CUBIC materials
our objects and furniture basically consist of 3 materials/layers. we distinguish between base body, surface lacquering and PUA special coating.
base body
.
the base body of CUBIC is made of expanded polystyrene rigid foam, which bears the styrofoam GHP quality mark. polystyrene (PS) is an amorphous or partially -crystalline thermoplastic.
expanded polystyrene (EPS) is mainly known under the trade name “styropor”, and is used with extruded polystyrene (XPS) as the base material.
for the manufacture of our products we use only the polystyrene class w30.
highest quality
all members of the GPH guarantee the highest quality. they voluntarily undergo external monitoring by an accredited testing body. in the process, qualitatively better characteristic values are tested than required by the european product standard EN 13163. the highest ecological standards are met through the use of new alternative flame retardants.
thermal insulation products made of styrofoam that comply with the GPH guidelines are marked with the “100 % ECO” quality seal. 100 % ECO stands for ecologically safe plastics and compliance with the latest national and european environmental requirements.
surface coating
the surfaces are coated with a UV-resistant acrylic or polyurethane varnish. the colors can be selected according to RAL. due to increased heating in sunlight, dark and metallic colors are unsuitable for outdoor applications.
PUA special coating
the coating is a PUA special coating, a specially modified polyurethane with high-quality technical and mechanical properties in terms of wear resistance, tear resistance and elongation at break.
polyurea & polyurethane
the coatings were originally developed for the automotive industry and have been used in the u.S. for about 30 years. polyurea is a particularly high-quality and quick to apply surface treatment that can be used in a wide variety of areas. the material is excellently suited for spray application, especially for coating large areas, as a fast, efficient and durable sealant. polyurea cures within a few minutes and is particularly resistant. chemicals, high temperatures, mechanical stresses, moisture and frost cannot harm polyurea-coated objects. the polyurea coating bridges cracks without any problems and adheres excellently to a wide variety of surfaces.
